Balneal resort Polyana – season 2014
Polyana resort is one of the most popular spa resorts in Ukraine, along with Morshyn, Truskavets, Skhidnytsya. At the heart of fame is the presence of mineral springs, healing properties which have been proved in the 17th century.
Development of Polyana’s mineral springs started much later - in the middle of the 19th century, but for 50 years from 1842 to 1911 mineral water of the same name - "Polyana Kvasova" (therapeutic hydro water with high boron content ) was observed 21 times in international competitions as one of the best mineral waters in Central Europe. Along with them, the demand had mineral water "Luzhanskaya" and "Polyana Kupel". Medical Switzerland, France and Italy have proved medicinal properties of these waters.
Polyana is located in a small valley in which two rivers meet: Malaya Pynya and Bolshaya Pynya and which extends along a narrow strip Uklinskiy pass. Despite the fact that the village is only at a height of 320 m above sea level, the existing differences in elevation Glade protect from cold winds, so the climate is mild, mid- continental. Guests from the northern regions of the summer will find the summer with an average temperature of 24 C +22- and guests from summer - mild winter with average temperatures of - 10C.
The impetus for the development in 1868 on the banks of the Malaya Pynya river was built sanatorium "Polyanskaya Kupel", which consisted of 40 rooms and 20 bathrooms booths. Such structures, only built of stone, still preserved in Slovakia, Hungary, Czech Republic.
On the eve of the Second World War Polyana - was one of the most famous resorts in Europe, offering year-round treatment.
In Soviet times, the most famous sanatorium in Polyana was "Polyana" (built on the basis of "Polyanka Kupel") and sanatorium "Sunny Carpathia".
Today thechoice of hotels and sanatoriums field is very large. Hotels are presented as a small private hotels, such as Quelle Polyana, Leela, Silver Vodograi, Fantasy, and large hotels, such as Reikartz Polyana and Reikartz Carpathians.
